RIOJA ALAVESA @en

Fine wines from select winegrowers
from Rioja Alavesa

Rioja Alavesa

Located
between the Ebro River and the imposing rocky mass of the Sierra Cantabria, Rioja Alavesa is the smallest and highest of the different sub-zones into which the Rioja Appellation is divided. Protected by the mountains from the cold and humid northern wind, the vineyards descend onto terraces and ravines that shape a unique microclimate. This Basque region of Alava is the origin of our firm, where our winegrowers produce wines that express the sense of place that has been dedicated to vineyards for centuries.

Rioja Alavesa

The Tempranillo
grape dominates this landscape of particular beauty. The vines are rooted in the unique light-coloured soil, under a bright and clear sky. Here and there, medieval villages and historic homes give personality to a region that is nowadays a real attraction for many visitors who find here the perfect combination: nature, gastronomy, tradition and wine.

Now
ARAEX Grands Spanish Fine Wines includes these winegrowers: Altos de Rioja, Amaren, Baigorri, Heredad de Baroja, Labastida, Lar de Paula, Luis Cañas and Montebuena. Altogether they represent different backgrounds and styles, and are united by the exciting vocation expressed in the freshness and distinction of the wines of their beloved origins.
