Rolland & Galarreta project is officially presented in Malaga
Rolland & Galarreta; a unique terroir with a modern and elegant style. Its mission: to ensure the prestige of Spain’s outstanding wines throughout the world.
It has been described as one of the key presentations of the year in Spain, boasting the presence of both Michel Rolland, the most influential oenologist and winemaking consultant in the world, and Javier Galarreta, one of the most renowned Spanish entrepreneurs with his extraordinary track record of exports, positioning Spanish wines among the most prestigious in the world, thanks to the Araex Grands Spanish Fine Wines group, the company he founded in 1993 and that today constitutes one of the largest independent groups of bodegas in Spain.
It was a presentation where Michel Rolland, answering questions from the media, highlighted the importance of soil, the climate and the variety. The oenologist placed special emphasis on the place from which wines originate, saying:
“The most important things are first, the place, second, the place and third, the place. Then we can talk.”
Javier Galarreta expressed his interest in marketing moderately-priced wines of high quality, bearing in mind what they need to offer the market and the wine industry. It is a project that started with three wines from three different winemaking areas and after a few years was joined by Esencia from Rioja and a third “SuperPremium”, which will be available in 2018.
Javier Galarreta stressed the ease of working with Michel, from the very first moment that the project was presented to him back in 2009. In just one week Michel understood the success of the proposal and gave Javier his blessing to embark on a joint venture. Following the presentation in the morning there was an informal lunch overseen by the chef, Javier Hernández, featuring dishes that served as the perfect accompaniments to the wines presented by Michel and Javier.
In the afternoon the Hotel Marbella Club became the backdrop for the presentation to professionals in the hotel and restaurant sector, together with a representation of key society figures from Malaga and the Costa del Sol, headed by Conde Rudy.
This iconic hotel was once again the venue where it was possible to make the acquaintance of wines at the hands of their creators. The team at Marbella Club produced a gourmet dinner for the occasion that made a perfect marriage with the eight Rolland & Galarreta wines presented, with venerable vintages brought from the bodega to celebrate this very special event.
