Vintage
2022 in Ribera del Duero is a short but really complex and very expressive vintage where the different terroirs are expressed, clearly differentiating their own characteristics.A fairly cool spring delayed the vegetative cycle of the vine, thus avoiding any loss due to frost. The high summer temperatures and the absence of humidity have facilitated exceptional health of the grapes in this 2022 vintage, which has decreased in quantity, but has been of good quality. In these extreme weather conditions, it was precisely the old vines that make up our wines that showed themselves best, achieving a balance in flavors and tannins that make 2022 a truly great vintage.

Pneumatic pressing, cold maceration, free-run juice that after 24 hours of static settling ferments at low temperature with indigenous yeasts and does not undergo MLF, intense batonnage in the first month, very low levels of sulfites

12 months in new French oak barrels with extra-fine grain and very light toast

Tasting notes
Colour
Pale color due to special care against oxidation, a yellow hue with gray tones.
Nose
Complex with white fruits, jasmine flowers, syrupy background with hints of peach, elegant and enduring wine
Mouth
Powerful, despite the 12 months in barrel, the oak is barely noticeable, emphasizing the variety and the excellent mouthfeel, volume, length, and freshness, with a long, elegant, and persistent finish
Pairing
With fatty fish such as turbot or sea bream. Perfect with fresh foie gras on the grill and all bird stews
