The Duero as a guardian and the soil as a fortress
On the plateau that extends to the south of the province of Valladolid, a short distance from the Duero River, is the Rueda vineyard. The purely continental climate and the soils covered with the characteristic boulder called "gravel" are two essential features of this flat geography.
Domains of the Verdejo
This land is dominated by the white variety Verdejo, with which wines of great freshness and elegance. Currently the area with the highest concentration and quality of vineyards is the triangle between the towns of Rueda, La Seca and Serrada.

After centuries of expansion, the area formally became a denomination of origin in 1980. Today the D.O. Rueda occupies almost 13,000 hectares spread over 74 municipalities
