Along more than 100 kilometres, the vineyard banks accompany the course of the Duero River as it passes through the provinces of Soria, Burgos and Valladolid. The great river, which crosses the Meseta of northern Spain, gives character and name to one of the best known and most prestigious wine regions in our country.

The severity of the continental climate, with its harsh winters and dry summers, decisively characterizes the personality of the Ribera del Duero. Here the Tinta Fina variety dominates, also known as Tempranillo.

Douro Vineyards
The D.O. Ribera del Duero, officially established in 1982, occupies more than 22,000 hectares of vineyards. Most of its area is located on both banks of the Duero, at an altitude of about 800 metres, although some vineyards are located on the plateau, at higher altitudes.
